On Thursday, February 22nd at 4:00 pm visiting speaker Joseph Campana (Associate Professor of English at Rice University) will give a public lecture, “From Flesh to Fuel: Bees, Biopower, and Early Modern Cultures of Energy,” in Grucci (102 Burrowes). Joseph Campana is a poet, arts critic, and scholar of Renaissance literature. He is the author of The Pain of Reformation: Spenser, Vulnerability, and the Ethics of Masculinity (Fordham UP, 2012), the co-editor of Renaissance Posthumanism, and the author of three collections of poetry, The Book of Faces (2005), Natural Selections (2012), which received the Iowa Poetry Prize, and The Book of Life, which is forthcoming. At Rice University, he is the Alan Dugald McKillop Chair in English.
